12 THINGS I LOVED IN 2018

12 THINGS I LOVED IN 2018

Just because 2018 was the most difficult year of my life doesn’t mean I was unable to find joy and happiness throughout the year! I am happy to finally share with you all the things I loved about 2018! Enjoy!

  1. FOSTERING PETS

This year my friend Tara introduced me to the idea of fostering a kitten! To be honest I only wanted one kitten to try it out but I got talked into fostering two brothers. Turns out I ended up being a FOSTER FAIL! After fostering the kittens for a few months I decided to keep them. What can I say they were just so cute and marked me as their human! If you are interested in fostering cats in particular be sure to check out the Stray Cat Alliance. They are an amazing organization AND provided me with all the kittens needs while I was fostering them.

2. THC VAPE PENS

It relaxes the mind and body and comes in the form of a disposable pen! How can anyone resist this 2018 trend? I know I couldn’t. Am I walking around all hours of the day vaping? Absolutely not. But when it came time to wind down and get ready for bed my handy dandy vape pen became my new best friend. This brand Pure was my pen of choice in 2018!

3. INTRAMURAL SPORTS

This year the opportunity to join a dodgeball league came my way. And although I was hesitant at first, I finally caved! I wanted to meet new friends and especially guy friends because I had like none! I ended up joining CLUBWAKA and loved it so much I even travelled to Vegas with the intramural crew for Wakapalooza… the one time a year CLUBWAKA participates from all over the country come together for a week spent in Vegas together! I am not going to lie if you are looking for a way to organically meet people check out the intramural leagues in your city!

4. AFTERBUZZ TV HOSTING

Being on television and in front of the camera has been something I have always loved and been comfortable with. I finally decided to attend a hosting seminar with Maria Menous’ husband Keven and the fabulous team at Afterbuzz TV. After passing my quiz and submitting a successful audition tape, I was given the GO to start hosting shows there! I am excited to get more involved in 2019 with hosting more shows, attending more workshops, and hopefully getting some red carpet hosting experience. If you have a love for a television show OR for hosting check out AfterBuzz TV and APPLY!

5. GIRL’S TRIPS

This year was all about the GIRLS! From Scottsdale to Monterrey and St. George to Palm Springs and I almost forgot the Orlando Disney Trip… I did quite a bit of traveling with the girlfriends and it was seriously the BEST TIME! Looking forward to exploring new destinations with my friends in 2019! You will never regret a GIRL’S TRIP!

6. HEALING CRYSTALS, GEMS, AND CANDLES

Throughout 2018 I spent a lot of time at House of Intuition. Anytime I was seeking guidance and healing I made a pit stop and this incredible store to pick out a new crystal, piece of healing jewelry, incense, or healing candle for my living space. It felt very therapeutic to carry these crystals with me during difficult times this past year.

7. DIFFUSERS AND ESSENTIAL OILS

Along with the crystals came diffusing essential oils in my diffuser and using essential oils on my body. To clear the air in my living arrangement and in my office space I opted for various blends like eucalyptus and lavender. When it came to stress headaches and feeling a little under the weather I would rub peppermint oil around my forehead. Another product I utilized on the regular this year was doTERRA Deep Blue Rub for all my body aches and sore muscles. To protect myself from getting sick I would place a drop of doTERRA Onguard’s Protective Oil Blend under my tongue and it sure did work like magic!

8. THERAPY

During 2018 I utilized a few new types of therapy for my mind and body. For my mind I joined Talkspace Online Therapy. I chose a therapist who helped me 5 days a week work through my stresses and get back on track with a positive way of thinking. For $50 a week it felt comforting to have someone readily available to talk to. I highly recommend online therapy! For my body I came across a place called Pause Float Studio where I would immerse my body into 1,000 pounds of salt to help detoxify the body, release endorphins, and provide myself with relief from physical, mental, and emotional stress, and fatigue. This is a MUST TRY!

9. ONE PIECE BATHING SUITS

So I have been told that I apparently killed the one piece bathing suit game in 2018. What can I say? The ONE PIECE IS BACK! From my Taco Bell Hot Sauce Packet masterpiece to my La Criox Sparkling Water Number, let’s just say I had a lot of fun with this trend and hope it continues in 2019!

10. PREPPED MEALS

2018 was yet another year of meal prepping! When I was feeling super motivated and healthy I would go a little crazy in the kitchen and meal prep with these life saving containers. But when I was slammed at work and feeling on the lazier side when it came to meal prepping I turned to Territory and their wide variety of prepped meals I could pick up from a nearby local gym. Either way meal prepping continued to be all the rage for me this year and I definitely see more prepped meals in my future! For $50 worth of prepped meals head to Territory’s Website!

11. VISION BOARDS

In 2018 I started a trend of creating a vision board the first month of the year. I use old magazines I have laying around the apartment and light some candles, grab a glass of wine, and start clipping away inspirations. I am looking forward to creating my 2019 vision board especially since almost all my visions from 2018 were made into realities!

12. INSPIRING OTHERS

2018 proved to be my most successful year with my blog! Take my advice and if you have been saying you want to start a YouTube channel, a podcast, a blog, or maybe even write a book, do yourself a favor and DO IT! I promise you will not have any regrets. My blog is my happy place and it makes me even happier when I know I am inspiring others and making a difference in their lives!

Cheers to 2019 being the most positive, healing year yet!

XoXo,

Brittney
